Speaking of internal memos
Atrios has a cryptic comment about what appears to be a Democratic strategy memo -- I have to say that I personally find this part heartening:

I beg to differ. A 50-year old right winger appointed to SCOTUS can leave a lasting legacy of damage which might end up the most malignant effect of 'em all of having had Shrub steal the White House. In comparison, getting Rove fired (or better yet indicted, convicted and incarcerated) would just be grinding an axe at this point, and scapegoating him won't change the essential criminality of the entire Bush dysadministration. And classing Iraq as something on which we can make a difference?? The opposition in Congress did not have the cojones to prevent the massive, lasting damage, death and destruction we have wrought there, but we can get them to have the cojones to take a stand against packing the judiciary and eliminating the filibuster, and IMHO the Roberts nomination and the coming second SCOTUS appointment are the place to start going to the wire...
yeah, I had second thoughts after writing "things that really matter" -- I think that the SC is critical aS much as you do, but I don't think DemS can do anything tO stop Roberts, while some hay Can be made over Rove that might help with some election eventually...
