Some guy with a blog runs the numbers and concludes that a government program offering trade-ins of conventional lightbulbs for fluorescent equivalents could lead to astounding savings in energy -- as much as a whole nuclear power plant could generate each year (at a fraction of the cost and virtually zero risk). File under mazing ideas I'd love to see in practice, but doubt would ever really be aired.
