Is your faith in that statement shaken at all by word that they were trying to get wiretap powers long before 9/11? sadly, the True Believers will probably respond that such powers would have prevented 9/11. sure.

uhhhhhh if they already had it 7 or 8 months before 9/11 then that really shows it doesnt work.
kind of shoots down the reason for keeping it going?
also isnt it time to prosecute a few admin staff for lying to congress?
