The FDA is allowing nonprescription access to Plan B contraception (the "morning after" pill) for women 18 or older. It only took them three years to give in to the advice of their own experts...

Technical note: this drug prevents pregnancy (seemingly by preventing ovulation, and/or fertilization); it is not an after-the-fact abortifacticant. This battle was all about a woman's right to control her bodily processes (and, you know, not carry a rapist's baby). Just in case you wondered what the right's focus really was.
